3 – Day Private Tour to Turkmenistan from Uzbekistan
Private 4-day adventure to witness places of interest in Turkmenistan from Uzbekistan. Darvaza gas crater tour to explore “Door to Hell”, 60 meters diameter hole that has been burning since 1971. Its name translated as ‘gates’, Darvaza is a small Turkmen settlement located close to the border with the Dashoguz region, and the start of a special permit zone. Darvaza has 350 inhabitants, most of them Turkmens of the Teke tribe, and at the settlement many people continue their half-nomadic lifestyle by setting up yurts in front of their simple houses.
Detailed program of tour
Day 1:KHIVA-SHABAT - DARVAZ.
Early morning at 7:00 am Transfer to the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan border point from Khiva (1 hour, 60 km), You will spend about 2 hours at Shabat- Dashoguz Following border formalities at both checkpoints. Your guide will meet you in Dashoguz. 10:00 Transfer to the Darvaza crater. You will have a lunch in local restaurant. 19:00 Arrive in Darvaza. You will have BBQ dinner and overnight stay in Yurt camp
Day 2: DARVAZA-ASHGABAT.
Camp-style breakfast. 7:00 Meet the guide and the driver. Transfer to Ashgabat. You will visit Ahalteke horse stables, Anau mosque ruins by the way to Ashgabat. 11:00 Arrival in Ashgabat. You will visit Ertogrul Gazy Mosque, Independence Park, Neutrality Arch, National Museum. 15:00 Transfer to the hotel. Resting time. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: ASHGABAT - DEPARTUR
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the International Airport Ashgabat. Depart from Ashgabat.
