Detailed program of tour

Day 1 Tashkent

Welcome to Uzbekistan!

Arrive in Tashkent afternoon/evening  and  meet the driver at the lobby. Transfer to the hotel.  Resting time in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2   Tashkent-Urgench-Khiva

Early breakfast at the hotel.  Transfer to the local airport. Flight to Urgench by HY51.Arrival in Urgench Airport.  Come out of the terminal and meet with our driver.

Transfer to Khiva (30 km) hotel to drop off the bags. Standard hotel check-in at 14:00.

Meet the guide and start walking excursion in the historical part of Khiva – Ichan-kala (translated as “Inner town”). Ichan-kala - the largest Museum in the open air in Central Asia consisting of:

1.Ata-Darvaza  -  the main gate of Ichan-Kala, located in the western part of the city. The gate was built in 1842, destroyed in 1920. In 1975 they were restored again. The height of the Ata-Darvaza gate is 10 meters and the width is 4 meters. To the left of them is the old fortress of Kunya-Ark, to the right is the madrasah of Muhammad Amin Khan.

2. Kunya-Ark «old castle» was built in the end of 17th century in 1686-1688 by Anushakhan’s son Arangakhan. The total size of the fortress is 130х93 metre. The fortress included a hall for official reception, khan’s office, mosques, mint, as well as many other outbuildings.

  3.Muhammad Rahim-khan madrasah - is located east of Kunya-Ark. The full name of khan was Said Muhammad Rahim Bahadur Khan. Local people called him Madraim Khan II. The construction of madrasah was begun by Seyid Muhammad Rahim Khan’s order and was completed in 1876. The immense building consists of 76 hujras, two courtyards, darshona, winter and summer mosques and library

4. Madrassah of Muhammed Aminhan  - was built in 1851-1854 by the order of Khiva ruler Muhammad Amin-Khan and was named after him. The building of the Madrasah of Muhammed Amin-Khan has five domes and flank towers. The facade is decorated with rich glazed bricks and wooden doors with ornamental carving. Madrassah of Muhammed Amin-Khan is one of the main sights.

5. Kalta-Minar - is a minaret located on the territory of Ichan-Kala - the inner city of ancient Khiva (Uzbekistan). Built in 1852-1855.
Kalta-Minor was intended to become the largest minaret in Central Asia if it were completed: with a base diameter of 14.2 m, its height would reach 70 m. According to the Khiva historian Munis, construction stopped in the middle due to the death of Muhammad-Amin- Khan. The minaret was called “kalta”, that is, “short”.

6.  Islam-Khoja Madrassah - was built in 1908 by Islam-Hoja of the Prime Minister of Khan. The minaret is a symbol of the country, is an early example of the architecture of the XIV century.

Day 3 Khiva-Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer Khiva to Bukhara by car (475 km, 7 hrs) via Kyzylkum desert OR transfer by train (depending on train schedule). Arrival in Bukhara. Transfer to the hotel.

Resting time in the afternoon/evening. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer Khiva to Bukhara by car (475 km, 7 hrs) via Kyzylkum desert OR transfer by train (depending on train schedule). Arrival in Bukhara. Transfer to the hotel.

Resting time in the afternoon/evening. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed of the excursion program:

1. Bolo Hauz Mosque. The most impressive feature of the Bolo Hauz Mosque is the tall, intricately carved pillars that line the front entrance. The mosque was built in the 17th century and the entire complex includes a small pond that was used as a water reservoir and a short minaret.

2. Miri-Arab madrasah  was constructed during the 16th century and is still used to be an operational Madrasah and it also has the shrine of Mir Arab.

Naqshbandi mausoleum (the founder of Naqshbandi Sufi Spiritual order) Located near Bukhara the memorial complex of Bakhauddin Nakshbandi is considered as one of the most significant religious places of Bukhara that attracts many visitors as well as pilgrims.  The memorial was rebuilt several times in XIV - each Emir of Bukhara wanted to build something new near the mausoleum. This complex impresses with its incomparable style of oriental architecture, which reflects the spirit of the Sufi Order.

Transfer to the railway station  to Samarkand.  Arrive in Samarkand.

Day 6 Samarkand

1.Gur Emir Mausoleum Gur-e Amir is Persian for "Tomb of the King". This architectural complex with its azure dome contains the tombs of Tamerlane

It is considered a masterpiece of the Timurid Renaissance.

4. Siyob Bazaar is the largest bazaar in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. All daily necessities, such as "Samarkand naan", are sold. 5. Hazrat Khyzr Mosque It is the first Moslem mosque of Samarkand. It stands on a natural elevation where a steep stairs leads. The mosque consists of aivan and khanaka.

6. The Shah-i-Zinda Ensemble includes mausoleums and other ritual buildings of 11th – 15th and 19th centuries.

1. Amir Timur Square, founded in 1882 and originally called Konstantinovsky Square, was renamed on August 31, 1994, after the Amir Timur to honor the cultural and historical contribution of the great conqueror.

2. Amir Temur Museum the most impressive area of the museum is the central rotunda. A copy of the Quran sits in the center with a vibrantly colored mural behind it. The domed ceiling is painted gold with a fantastic chandelier hanging from the center.

3.Khast Imam Square – a religious center of the city consisting of the Barakkhan madrasah; Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum and the library of Islamic Literature with the Holy Koran Book of the VII century (original Quran Othman). Khast Imam is one of the most significant spiritual centers in Central Asia and attracts pilgrims and visitors all over the world.

4.Chorsu bazaar – the ancient bazaar of Tashkent. “Chorsu” means “four waters”, symbolically meaning the conjunction of four major parts of the old city in the bazaar where people come for trades.

5.Kukeldash Madrasah in Tashkent is one of the most famous historical sites in Uzbekistan's capital. Built in 1570 under the Shaybanid Dynasty. It is beautiful example of Islamic architecture and are certainly worth a stop when you’re in the area.

6. Theater Square with the Opera House: State Academic Theater of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi built in 1947 is one of the best opera theaters in the world that performs both classical and national repertoires. 

7. Independence Square, the main square of Uzbekistan reflects the past, present, and future of the country. There are fountains standing for the life energy of Uzbek people, the Cabinet and the Senate, the “Eternal flame" in honor of soldiers who died during the Second World War.
8. Earthquake Memorial, the composition is devoted to the tragic date of the earthquake in Tashkent on April 26, 1966, and is erected in the approximate place of the earthquake epicenter. Residents still come to the monument to honor those people who took a part in the reconstruction of Tashkent.
