Bukhara – one of the oldest cities in Central Asia and one of the greatest commercial centers on the Silk Road. The past of any city, and in particular of the city of Bukhara is rich insignificant events. For 25 centuries Bukhara has experienced a boom, world fame, and fantastic riches, it has also survived the black days, the invasion of ruthless enemies, complete ruin, and times of revolt. This noble land was trampled on by the horses of Alexander the Great’s army, the Arab conquerors under the command of Kuteiba ibn Muslim, the Mongol invader Gengiz khan reduced the city to ashes. There were so many internal khan wars here that their numbers can only be calculated by a meticulous historian, addicted to his work.
